After 28 years of working as a policy adviser, industry lobbyist, head of a community NGO and then more latterly for a decade as a public official in the Queensland Government, in 2009 I returned to academia to head up a research centre in sustainable business and development. Unmuzzled at last, in a position to offer personal rather than official or corporate views, this site will be my place.
History, matters of citizenship and public debate, informed discussion about the issues challenging our planet and humanity, points of language and philosophy, insights into music and culture, a sustainable future for my family and their children – these are the things that matter most to me and these are the things I will write about on this blog.
